In 2011, Advance Institute of Business, in partnership with English First, provided corporate training to senior managers of international Chinese oil company PetroChina in the Chinese city of Chengdu.
PetroChina wanted their senior managers to learn western business techniques, which are far different than the Chinese management style. This was part of their international expansion strategy.
The training involved subject areas such as change management, organisational behaviour, strategic marketing, cultural awareness, human resource management, contemporary management, workplace ethics and modern leadership styles.
